![]() Charles Abbott (Spamalot-Mayor, Patsy, Guard 2) returns to the Fulton Theatre, where he appeared as Blind Pew and Ben Gunn in Robin and Clark's Treasure Island. He follows Spamalot by directing Deathtrap. As an Artistic Director: Maine State Music Theatre from 1991 to this production in 2010. Prior to that, Associate Artistic Director of The Alliance and Atlanta's Children's Theatre. As a director: Walnut Street Theatre, 28 productions including 4 world premieres; 2010 recipient of the Edwin Forrest Lifetime Achievement Award, 5 Barrymore nominations, 2 Barrymore Awards. Multiple productions at Theatre Under the Stars (including the world premiere of Yeston/Kopit's Phantom! and two star-filled productions of Follies), the Alley Theatre, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Music Theatre of Wichita, the New Theatre, etc. For the LA Opera production of Oklahoma! he won the first-ever Drama-Logue Award. As an actor: The Emcee in Cabaret, performing it over a thousand times since beginning in the 1st national tour under Harold Prince's direction and culminating in a Barrymore Award-winning run at WST. Broadway and other national tours: Two Gentlemen of Verona, Marat/DeSade, and as Joel Grey's standby for The Grand Tour. Recently, Man In Chair in Drowsy Chaperone. National Tours include, featured vocalist for Kenny Rogers and Lead vocalist for The Paul Chapman Project (former lead guitarist for 70's 80's multi-platinum band UFO).
