Creative Team Bios

Joseph Lauinger (Playwright) Joe Lauinger's plays have been performed throughout the United States and in Canada, England, Australia, and India. Dirty Work was produced at the Alliance Repertory Theater in Los Angeles, CA, in 1995 and won Best Writing of the Year awarded by Backstage West. His one-acts have appeared at many festivals including the Black Box Series at Gallery Players, the Samuel French Love Creek Festival, the Strawberry Festival, the Turnip Festival, the Attic Theatre (L.A.), the Silver Lake Theatre (L.A.), the Nantucket Theater, the Shortened Attention Span Festival (NYC), and the TANYS Festival of 2000 (Theater Association of New York State) where "What A Moon!", directed by Joe, won Best Short Production. "The Green Cheese Mystery" won the John V. Gurry Drama Competition for Best Short Play in 2001, awarded by Confrontation Magazine. "Rich on Skins" won Best Play at the Shortened Attention Span Festival at the Players Theatre in Greenwich Village in June 2007, and "The Chamberpot" won the Golden Curtain Award (Best of Festival) at the New Voice Play Festival 2008 at the Old Opera House in Charles Town, WV. Joe has had several full-length plays produced at Gallery Players, Brooklyn, including: Mother's Day, which was also a finalist at the Humana Festival; A Wedding Album, directed by Heather Curran; and Bury Him, which was commissioned by Gallery Players and directed by Alexa Polmer. The Pie Dialogues was developed under the title of Dawn and Sean in the 2006 Gallery Players Reading Series and won Best Play at the Dayton Playhouse FutureFest 2007 in Dayton, Ohio. It was produced in 2009 by the Main Street Theater in Houston, Texas, and is published in Best Regional Plays 2011 by Level Four Press. Joe teaches dramatic literature at Sarah Lawrence and is a member of the Dramatists Guild.

Matthew Wiener (Director) Matthew is thrilled to be directing his second show for the Fulton Theatre after last season's Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. His day job for the past 16 years is Producing Artistic Director of Actors Theatre of Phoenix where he has directed over 25 productions including: Doubt, a Parable, Speak Spanish to Me, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, The Pillowman, The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow, Benefactors, Blue/Orange, Sight Unseen, Angels in America, Spinning Into Butter, Something in the Air, The Archbishop's Ceiling, Hedda Gabler, The Essential Henry V, Below the Belt, and of course, A Christmas Carol. During his tenure, Actors Theatre has received numerous local awards including Outstanding Arts Organization from Business Volunteers for the Arts, and Outstanding Producing Theatre from the Arizona Theatre Alliance. He has also directed and worked at: Arizona Theatre Company (4 years as Associate Artistic Director), North Coast Repertory Theatre, Childsplay, Arizona Jewish Theatre Company, The Children's Theatre Company, The Cleveland Playhouse, American Conservatory Theatre, The Whole Theatre, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Berkshire Theatre Festival, The Cider Mill Playhouse, and Yale Repertory Theatre. He was a founding board member of Arizona Theatre Alliance and has served on grant panels for Arizona Commission on the Arts, Tucson/Pima Arts Council and the Nevada Arts Council. He has taught at Arizona State University, University of Arizona, Pima Community College, and Scottsdale Community College. Matthew holds an MFA from the Yale School of Drama, where he was the Artistic Director of the Yale Cabaret. He is a member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society. Matthew resides in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife Marion, and their twin daughters Jordan and Claire.

Robert Andrew Kovach (Scenic Designer) Robert is thrilled to join the creative team of the Fulton Theatre for Michael Archangel. Previous at FT: Annie & The 39 Steps. Off Broadway: New World Stages; White's Lies & ImaginOcean (Drama Desk Nom.), Theatre Row, Sphinx Wnix. National Tours: All Shook Up. Colleen Grady (Costume Designer) is thrilled return to the Fulton after designing costumes for The 39 Steps earlier this season! She is currently in her 14th season at Walnut Street Theatre as Costume Shop Manager/Designer. Selected Walnut design credits include: Hairspray, Les Misérables (Barrymore Nomination), La Cage Aux Folles (Barrymore Award), Evita, Of Mice and Men, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Oliver!, Eclectic Society, and Fiddler on the Roof (Barrymore Award). Bill Simmons (Lighting Designer) Mr. Simmons designed Deathtrap earlier this season and last season's Noises Off, Dial "M" for Murder and Hello, Dolly! Bill lights a large variety of projects, both at the Fulton and other places. Past designs credits include The Foreigner, The Unexpected Guest, Glorious! The True Story of Florence Foster Jenkins, the Worst Singer in the World, The Mousetrap, Old Wicked Songs, The Turn of the Screw, Tuesdays with Morrie, Ragtime, A Christmas Carol, Brighton Beach Memoirs, My Way, the World Premiere production of The French Lieutenant's Woman, The King and I, Amadeus, the Jubilee for Fulton's 150th Celebration, Rags, The Glass Menagerie, Joyful Noise, Evita, Inherit the Wind, A Man for All Seasons, Spunk, Big River, Fiddler on the Roof, 1940's Radio Hour, Moon Over Buffalo, Miss Evers' Boys and Quilters. In New York, Bill's lighting has been seen Off-Broadway with Arthur and Leila, The Three Sisters, A Doll's House, Quintuplets, as well as Annie Sprinkle's One Woman Show. Bill continues to design various lighting projects for Clair Brothers Systems. Recent local projects include the Lancaster County Bible Church, Glad Tidings Assembly of God, and Reimstown Church of God. Wheaton Bible Church and Harvest Bible Church, both in the Chicago area. Others include Watermark Church in Dallas and Calvary Church of Souderton in Souderton, PA, Victory Christian Ministries International in Washington DC, World Cafe Live in Philadelphia, and Bongos Cuban Cafe in Miami. Locally, he lit the exterior facade of both the Watt and Shand building, during it re-construction, and Pennsylvania College of Art & Design. Joseph Simon (Sound Designer) is back after designing the Fulton productions of Deathtrap, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Noises Off, Driving Miss Daisy, Dial "M" for Murder, The Unexpected Guest, The Spitfire Grill, and The Foreigner. This is Joseph's fourth full season at the Fulton, where he has worked as a member of the run crew, a carpenter, and currently works as the audio engineer. Joseph, an alumnus of Franklin & Marshall, has worked at numerous local theaters and thoroughly enjoys Lancaster City life. He would like to thank Marc Robin for continuing to give him incredible opportunities, his family and friends for their constant love and support, and Anne Jude for everything else.

John V. Bellomo (Fight Director) has recently been appointed as the Artistic Director of the Maryland Shakespeare Festival in Frederick, MD. He is a Philadelphia based Director/Fight Director/Actor and has choreographed violence for many of Philadelphia's theatre companies, including People's Light and Theatre Co., Philadelphia Theatre Co., Theatre Exile, The Philadelphia Shakespeare Festival, Lantern Theatre, The Wilma Theatre, InterAct Theatre Co., Delaware Theatre Company, and The PA Shakespeare Festival. In 2010, John won a Barrymore Award for Outstanding Movement/ Choreography for his fight choreography on The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity. John has traveled to Italy and directed William Shakespeare's The Tempest, Twelfth Night, As You like It and A Midsummer Night's Dream for Teatro Delle Due. Other directing credits include Romeo & Juliet, The Taming of the Shrew, Fuddy Meers, The Do's and Don'ts of Time Travel, A Lesson Before Dying, The Nina Variations, Oleanna, and two original commedia dell'arte playsThe Capitano Duped and The Power of Magic. He has taught Stage Combat at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, Teatro in Polvere in Milan, Accademia Internazionale dello Spettacolo in Calabria Italy, The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York, Rowan University in New Jersey and Temple University in Philadelphia. He received an M.F.A. in Directing from Temple University and a B.F.A. in Acting from the University of the Arts and is a graduate of The International School for the Comic Actor in Reggio Emilia, Italy where he studied commedia dell'arte with Italian Maestro Antonio Fava.

Cory R. Starr (Special Effects & Weapons Designer) Hailing from Arizona, Cory is excited to be joining the Fulton Theatre crew for the production of Michael Archangel. Having worked with Director Matthew Wiener on Pillow Man and The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Cory is well versed in producing gunshot effects on stage. Cory began his special effects career in 1989 with Bill Paxton's The Vagrant, and has since worked on scores of motion pictures, television shows, and commercials. Recent films include: Piranha 3D; Middle Men; Take me Home Tonight; and a recurring gig on the SyFy Channel. He owns and operates CFX Special Effects & Weapons out of the greater-Phoenix (AZ) area, and is a Union member with IATSE Local 485 (Arizona Studio Mechanics). www.cfxaz.com

Barry Kur (Dialect Coach) is the Associate Director and a Professor of the Penn State University School of Theatre and serves as an Actor Voice/Speech Specialist of Penn State's Professional Actor Training Programs. He has coached over 100 theatre productions for both professional and academic theatre companies and assists professional speakers of varied fields in his private practice. Kur is a Lessac Master Teacher, a lead teacher in the Lessac Institute's summer workshops and the author of Stage Dialect Studies: A Continuation of the Lessac Approach to Actor Voice/Speech Training. For the Fulton Theatre, he has been dialect coach for Brigadoon and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

Katelin Walsko (Properties Designer) is blessed to be a new member of the Fulton Team! Katelin graduated from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia in 2008 with a BFA in Theatre Design. Prior to working at the Fulton she was a Properties Apprentice at the Walnut Street Theatre. Katelin has freelanced as props over-hire and scenic painter for the Opera Company of Philadelphia; Resident Costume and Prop Designer for New City Stage Company; Properties Manager for Mac-Hayden Theatre in Chatham, New York. Anthony Lascoskie, Jr. (Makeup and Hair Designer) Before joining the Fulton, Anthony managed the Millersville Costume Shop. Anthony has designed costumes and wigs for local theatres as well as private clients. His favorites include La Cage aux Folles, The Rocky Horror Show and working on the hair for Taffetas, Joyful Noise, Seussical and Enchanted April. Besides being the resident makeup and wig designer, Anthony also manages the costume shop for the Fulton. He is excited to have the Fulton's extensive costume collection open to the public.

Ryan B. Gibbs (Stage Manager) New York: Wicked (Broadway), Avenue Q (Off Broadway), Broadway Backwards 6, 36th Annual Winter Solstice Festival and Songs For A New World. National Tours: Avenue Q, The Drowsy Chaperone, Rent, The Will Roger's Follies starring Larry Gatlin and The Man of La Mancha. Regional and Stock: Fulton Theatre, Forestburgh Playhouse, Allenberry Playhouse, Carousel Dinner Theatre to name a few. Ryan is honored to be back at the Fulton. In addition to Stage Management, Ryan has also worked as a Director, Company Manager, Lighting Designer and Production Manager.
